When are you too old to go trick-or-treating? Well, I’m 13, in middle school, and I’m going trick-or-treating this year. Although, this will probably be my last year. Next year I’ll be in high school and I don’t think that I’d want to go anymore as many of my friends have already stopped participating in this tradition. You should be around 12 or 13 when you stop trick-or-treating because you’re entering the teenage years. I decided to go this year because I think I could get one more year of trick-or-treating in without people telling me that I’m too old to go.

The thumping upstairs - as well as the cheering - gives me the clue to their video game choice of the morning; they must be playing Tony Hawk SHRED, the latest game created by Activision.

One of the highlights of my time at BlogHer Food was the Serving Up a Side of Safety event hosted by the nice folks at UL (Underwriters Laboratory). I was in a group of three teams of five to six food bloggers competing in an Iron Chef type competition. Each team was judged on their presentation, flavor, and creativity as well as their demonstration of safety during preparation.

A recent study from Scholastic shows that parents are concerned that their kids aren’t reading enough when they have access to electronics. It seems more important than ever for Dads and Moms to spend time reading with your kids. The study also suggest that half of kids age 9-17 say they are interested in reading an ebook, and a third would read more if they had an ebook device.
