* Mom Central attended an event hosted by Texas de Brazil. All opinions are our own.
When planning to go out to dinner as a family, we look for those tried and true restaurants that we know will please everyone’s palate. But we want to go somewhere that will prove to be a memorable experience. Too often this means we fall into a habit of going to the same restaurant. However, after visiting the latest location of the Texas de Brazil restaurant chain in midtown Manhattan, I’m encouraging families to think differently the next time you’re planning a dinner out.
Many are not familiar with Brazilian steakhouses or as they are properly known as, Churrascarias, but they are delicious and crowd-pleasing for even the most discerning diners. Churrascrarias like Texas de Brazil feature grilled meats such as beef, pork, lamb and chicken, all prepared over an open flame and carved tableside. At Texas de Brazil, the meat is served by authentically clad “Gauchos,” which lends a more genuine feel to the restaurant, and brings almost an entertainment factor to the entire meal. Nothing gets kids more excited to eat then seeing dinner served in this style. It ramps up the excitement factor of eating out. And as families with younger children can attest, any element of a restaurant that can amaze the smallest mouths at the table is a welcome one! It also allows for variety – there’s a set fee for each person – so you can feel comfortable in sampling any number of meats or dishes until you find your favorite.
In addition to the food (and Brazilian Caipirinha drinks of course!), we loved the overall style and décor of Texas de Brazil. The space was very large, and can accommodate private parties, but smaller groups won’t feel overwhelmed based upon the set-up of the space. Everything was clean and modern, so it’s a great option if you want to leave the kids at home and have a fun couples night. We’ve only been to the midtown Manhattan location so far, but with over 25 domestic locations and three international restaurants, a night at Texas de Brazil is feasible for many!
